It looks great. The phone doesn't ring.

Websites for UK small businesses

The problem
The design was signed off. Then nothing changed. The odd form fill is someone selling you SEO.
They are not better at the job. Their sites are just easier for Google to read, and they have more pages for buyers to find.
So nothing gets fixed. Or you pay for a redesign that changes the colours and keeps the problem.
Every month the site stays like this, the people who searched for exactly what you do found someone else.
The causes are almost always findable. Slow pages on a phone. Copy that talks about you, not the buyer. No proof. No clear next step. Pages Google cannot read. Once you can see them, you can fix them in order of what matters most.
How it works
I review your site against 80 checks and up to 5 competitors. You get a written report and a short walkthrough call within 5 working days.
The report ends with a roadmap of changes ranked by impact, each with a fixed price. Do them yourself, ask me to do some of them, or have me build a new site. Or do nothing.
Whatever you choose, I make sure you can measure it: enquiries, calls and Google searches tracked, so you know what changed.
Pick any changes from your roadmap. I make them at the fixed price shown in the report. Buy one, buy them all.
When fixing costs more than starting again, I build you a new site from scratch: fast, built for Google and wired to capture enquiries. You own all of it.
The standard
Main content visible on a phone in under 2.5 seconds, Google's own target. Most small business sites miss it.
Google can read every page, and each service buyers search for has a page of its own.
Real proof beside every claim: who you are, who you have helped, how to reach a person.
One clear next step on every screen, a short form, and a reply promise that tells people what happens next.
Analytics and Search Console set up properly, so you can see which pages and searches bring enquiries.
Proof
This website
Pre-rendered pages on fast Azure hosting. Structured data on every page. Google Analytics 4 with consent. Every form wired into a CRM so no enquiry gets lost. Measured with Google Lighthouse:
Run it yourself: open this page in Chrome, then DevTools, then Lighthouse.
A real report
For a UK SAP consultancy, the review found a site that was technically sound but sold nothing. It had 2 pages against 18 to 637 for its competitors, and 0 of 9 trust signals where peers showed 4 to 8. On a mid-range phone, the homepage hero image took 8.4 seconds to appear.
The recommendation was not a rebuild. It was a sharper message, visible proof and a steady flow of pages.
The person
I'm Gary Kellett. I have worked in technology for more than 25 years and written code since 1998. I'm an enterprise architect who still builds. I build with AI agents, so work quoted in weeks ships in days, and I read and check every line before it reaches you.
Is this you?
Questions
Usually a mix of four things: Google can't find or read the right pages, the pages load slowly on a phone, the copy talks about you instead of the buyer's problem, and there is no clear, easy next step. The free report tells you which of these applies to your site, and how much each one matters.
Often it can be fixed. In the sample report on this site, the answer was not a rebuild. The report compares the cost of fixing against the cost of a new build, so you can decide with real numbers.
It depends on the number of pages, what the site has to do and how much content exists already. I don't publish a rate card because every site is different. Your report gives you a fixed price for each fix and for a new build, so you know the exact cost before you commit.
The usual causes are oversized images, too much JavaScript, third-party scripts like chat widgets, and slow hosting. The report measures each page on a simulated mid-range phone and names the specific files slowing it down.
Not on its own. Rankings come from Google being able to read your pages, having a page for each thing people search for, and being trusted. A new site built properly fixes the first two from day one. The report shows where you stand against your competitors on each.
Most fixes in the report can be made on the platform you already use. Where the platform itself is the limit, for example on speed, the report says so plainly.
You do. The code, the domain, the hosting account and the analytics are all in your name. If you ever want someone else to look after it, you hand them the keys.
I work with UK businesses first. If you are elsewhere and your buyers are in the UK, send a request and I will tell you if I can help.
