Sometimes the answer is automation. Often it is a proper look at the systems you already pay for, or at how one area of work runs. Answer 9 questions and I'll point you at the right first step, with the reasons drawn from what you told me.

The questions

0 of 9 answered

  1. 01What frustrates you most right now?

Pick the one that costs you most. You can come back and try another.

  2. 02Roughly how many business applications do you use?

Count everything you pay for or rely on: accounts, CRM, email, rotas, stock, project tools, and the spreadsheets that act as systems.

  3. 03Do those systems do what the business needs?
  4. 04How much information gets typed again from one system into another?
  5. 05Who leads technology in the business today?
  6. 06Where does the problem sit?
  7. 07Do you know what the fix is yet?
  8. 08Be honest: how much do you think this is eating into your profits each year?

Count the hours lost, the mistakes put right, the work you turn down and the customers who quietly go elsewhere. A rough guess is fine.

  9. 09How soon does something need to change?

The working

How the answer is worked out

Every answer adds points to the services it points towards. What frustrates you most counts for the most, and the other eight answers shift the result: how many systems you run, whether they do the job, how much gets re-keyed, who leads technology, where the problem sits, whether you know the fix, what the problem is costing you and your timing.

Ties go to the cheaper, diagnostic step. A Systems Health Check or a Better Way Review comes before a build, because the cheapest fix is often in software you already pay for, or in how the work is done.

AI only comes up when your answers point there. If the board wants an AI plan but your systems are held together with spreadsheets, I'll say to sort the systems first. AI needs data it can reach.

A website, a business you're buying and a slow development team each have one clear first step, so those answers decide the result on their own. It is a starting point for a conversation, not a diagnosis.

Questions

Before you rely on it

What is the difference between a Systems Health Check and a Better Way Review?

A Systems Health Check starts from your systems: every application you pay for gets a verdict (keep, configure better, connect, replace or retire), with the licence waste and the missing links. A Better Way Review starts from the work: one area, such as finance or operations, mapped as it really runs, with the options costed.

Why didn't it recommend AI?

Because nothing in your answers pointed there. Most of the time the quickest win is a better process, a setting you already pay for, or two systems joined up. AI earns its place on top of those, not instead of them.

Can I see the price before I talk to you?

Yes. Each recommendation links to the service page and its price, so you can see what it would cost before you book anything.

What if the answer feels wrong?

Change the answer that seems to be driving it and try again, or bring the result to a 30-minute call. If it is wrong for your business, I'd rather tell you than sell you the wrong thing.
